<p>A man fell to the ground after being struck while the gunman kept shooting at him. </p>
<p>The shooter fled the scene but was later caught and identified as 24-year-old Dontavious Leonard Polk from Fort Lauderdale.</p>
<p>Two days before Sunday&#8217;s shooting, a man was killed and another was wounded after shots were fired in the busy city.</p>
<p>Crowds ran from restaurants and clubs into the streets after witnessing the gunfire. </p>

<p>Police took in one person and recovered four guns from the scene. </p>
<p>A strict curfew was enforced on Sunday from 11:59pm until 6am Monday, which didn&#8217;t apply to residents. </p>
<p>Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said the crowds of people and number of guns in the city have created a “peril that cannot go unchecked,&#8221; in a video posted on Sunday.</p>
<p>“We don’t ask for spring break in our city,” Gelber said.</p>
<p>“We don’t want spring break in our city. It’s too rowdy, it’s too much disorder and it’s too difficult to police.”</p>
<p>While Miami beach has experienced a curfew, thousands of American college kids are also known to go to Mexico for spring break but this year, a former cop has <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/news/7628277/mexican-cartels-out-control-dangerous-spring-break/">warned</a> that drug cartels are out of control.</p>
<p>A former NYPD cop <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/news/7674911/spring-break-fears-mexican-cartels-targeting-americans/">said</a> that the violent Mexican cartels have no morals and enjoy targeting wealthy American tourists.</p>
<p>Amid the spring break safety warnings, <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/news/7658239/spring-break-henry-meacock-passed-liza-burke-collapsed/">another student</a> tragically died during their spring break vacation</p>
