Prada is taking the runway to outer space.

The luxury Italian fashion house will help design the spacesuits astronauts will wear on the moon for NASA‘s Artemis III mission expected in 2025, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Prada will work with Axiom Space, which develops products for human space exploration, to modernize the design. It’s the first moon mission in 50 years, as U.S. astronauts haven’t touched down on the moon since 1972.

Axium recruited Prada due to the brand’s expertise in design to make the suits more comfortable and less bulky for more mobility, per NASA.

This is the first time a woman will be embarking on a mission to the moon.

Axium revealed an early prototype of the suit in March, but neither Axium nor Prada have shared any hints on the new design.

NASA will help ensure the suits are safe and ready for takeoff.

Prada has been a high-fashion couture house since it was founded in Milan in 1913 by Mario Prada. The brand is also the maker of Miu Miu.

3 Things Marketing Teams Need To Know About Data Science https://cbomo.com/3-things-marketing-teams-need-to-know-about-data-science/ https://cbomo.com/3-things-marketing-teams-need-to-know-about-data-science/#respond Sun, 06 Aug 2023 19:39:26 +0000 https://cbomo.com/3-things-marketing-teams-need-to-know-about-data-science/ [ad_1]

Greg Kihlström advises Fortune 1000 companies on MarTech, CX, and Digital Transformation at GK5A, and hosts The Agile Brand Podcast.

In a world where customers expect highly personalized experiences that are tailored based on specific information about them, and executive stakeholders increasingly want more detailed information about the success of marketing efforts and lifetime value of customers, one thing is true: data is incredibly important to the enterprise. Marketers have a unique relationship to the data within an enterprise, thus data science is increasingly a topic of conversation among their teams.

In this article, I’m going to talk about why it is so important for marketing teams to embrace their inner data scientists and find ways to understand and utilize data more in their work.

Data is only increasing in its importance to marketers.

I probably don’t have to tell you that data is important to the work of marketers, but the fact remains that it will only become more critical as time goes on. This is because the trajectory that marketing innovation is moving in only demands more, and better, data to be effective.

First-party data strategies are necessitated by a need for brands to have robust customer data privacy handling that considers laws and regulations around the globe, while factoring in increasing hurdles to using third-party data previously relied upon to drive targeted advertising and audience segmentation. Because of this, brands need stronger internal data strategies, and that means a need for more data professionals.

Additionally, the need for increased speed of delivery and greater personalization of content, offers and experiences means that data-driven decisions are top of mind for any sophisticated marketing team.

From decisions about where to spend advertising dollars, to investments in personalization and journey orchestration, data-driven decision-making is increasingly prevalent within marketing teams. That, compounded with an increased need to understand where and how customer data is collected and used means that marketers need a better understanding of data than ever.

Data is becoming increasingly democratized.

In addition to its growing importance, access to analyze data is becoming increasingly accessible to those who might not consider themselves data scientists. Thus, the citizen data scientist emerges and allows teams such as marketing to do work that was previously relegated to specific roles and areas of the business.

The democratization of data has translated into many new tools that allow non-data scientists to view, analyze and, in some cases, manipulate sets of data. It also means that existing tools and platforms have increasingly offered windows into the data available without complex data integrations. This makes it much easier to at least get a basic view of marketing results from most of the platforms you regularly use.

While your marketing team may not have full-time data scientists that belong to it, you should be finding ways to upskill so they can be able to understand and manipulate data, and have more robust conversations with an external data science team when needed. A little more knowledge can go a long way!

Data unlocks the personalized, omnichannel customer experience.

We are living in an omnichannel world, and data helps us understand our customers’ omnichannel behavior. As you likely already know, consumers do not relegate themselves to a single device to do just about anything. Google found that 90% of multiple device owners use, on average, three different devices to complete a task, and since that is an average, we can assume that many consumers use even more.

To understand what a customer prefers and what they might be expecting, we need data integrations across multiple systems, and often predictive models that allow us to paint a complete picture. Getting the data right to make this happen often takes complex integrations performed by technology teams or integration partners, but it is also important that marketers understand the data needed as inputs. After all, marketers are the ones tasked with designing the experiences, so therefore they should have a hand in how they are constructed.

Personalized, omnichannel customer experiences are truly the future of marketing and business. For this reason alone, you and your teams should be paying close attention to ways that you and your team can have a closer relationship to the data that powers these experiences.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons for marketers to pay closer attention to the data that is so critical to the work they do. While it doesn’t make sense for the marketing team within every enterprise organization to have its own data science team, it is something more teams are considering to varying degrees, and I recommend you evaluate it for yours as well.

How Data Science Drives Ecommerce and Affiliate Marketing   https://cbomo.com/how-data-science-drives-ecommerce-and-affiliate-marketing/ https://cbomo.com/how-data-science-drives-ecommerce-and-affiliate-marketing/#respond Thu, 25 May 2023 18:41:05 +0000 https://cbomo.com/how-data-science-drives-ecommerce-and-affiliate-marketing/ [ad_1]

Season 12 of the Affiliate Marketing Podcast is back with Episode 2! On this week’s episode, Lee-Ann sat down with the Head of Practice for Digital Transformation, eCommerce, and Strategy at Nimble Gravity, Matt Ranta. Nimble Gravity is a consultancy company that specialises in data science, digital strategy, and ecommerce.

Listen to this week’s episode to hear Lee-Ann and Matt discuss how data science is driving the ecommerce and affiliate marketing industries.

Think about SEO ranking factors

When we hear the word data, we often think of things like sales figures, churn rates, and active users. However, Matt points out that effective data analysis covers a much broader scope of metrics and can be utilised to improve the performance of business websites and digital platforms.

“What I see really consistently, is that people don’t pay attention to the data points that you can get from third parties who are doing things like speed testing and performance testing of websites. Which, by the way, is an SEO ranking factor.

“So, whether you are running a marketing program for a business, or you are an affiliate publisher who wants to drive traffic into their website, if you are not paying attention to the ranking factors from an SEO perspective, you’re going to be challenged, right?”

Matt goes on to list some tools that can be used to test website speed and performance and reiterates that doing so is crucial for ecommerce and affiliate businesses looking to stand out in today’s crowded market landscape.

Focus on customer queries

Lee-Ann asks Matt if he has any growth hacking tips that can boost affiliate program performance.

Matt replied: “Here’s a great thing to go look at. So, if you have Google Analytics and you’re running search ads through Google, you can go and look at the queries that people are using to actually drive traffic into your website. And then you can also sort through those and understand, and this is great from an e-commerce perspective.

“Affiliate managers can then take those search queries and can say, listen, partners, these are the top terms that are driving traffic into our website where people are actually converting with them.”

Always Be Testing (ATB)

Matt also shared a key mantra that all digital business owners should adopt. While salespeople might say “always be closing”, Matt believes that affiliate marketers and ecommerce merchants should focus on “always be testing”.

“In the ecommerce and digital world, I like to say always be testing. ABT, right? Like always be testing everything. Test your offers. Test your offers in specific channels. What works for an affiliate partner probably isn’t going to work for a paid search. Might not work on social.

“Figure these things out, test those things. Test your landing pages. Test where you’re bringing people into test. If you need to change what a page looks like for one type of referral versus another type of referral, right? Test your calls to action.”
